twin towns of the city of Bad Salzungen

The town of Bad Salzungen maintains a lively exchange with its twin towns and organises joint events, projects and visits.

The northern Hungarian town of Mezökövesd has been the twin town of Bad Salzungen since the 13th of August 1969.

The Czech town of Strakonice has been a twin town of Bad Salzungen since the 22nd of April 1977 and is located in South Bohemia, northwest of the district capital Budweis.

Since the 3rd of March 1990 Bad Salzungen has had a partnership relationship with Bad Hersfeld, the district town of the district of Hersfeld/Rotenburg in East Hesse.

The Danish town of Ishoj is not far from Copenhagen and has been a twin town of Bad Salzungen since the 31st of October 1994.

 

Twin towns of Bad Salzungens districts

Since 1990, the community of Tiefenort has maintained partnerships with Rheinböllen in Hunsrück, Mühlheim am Main and Schenklengsfeld in Hesse. Since 1993 there has been a sponsorship with the 2nd Company of the Panzergrenadierbataillon 391 of the Werratalkaserne in Bad Salzungen.

Since 1990, Frauensee has maintained partnership relations with Ronshausen in Hesse (district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg). Ronshausen has been twinned with the southern French town of Genas since 1975. The good partnership relations with the municipality of Frauensee were integrated into the partnership with the city of Genas.

Ettenhausen a. d. Suhl established a partnership with Schleching in Upper Bavaria in 1990. There is a district of Ettenhausen in the municipality of Schleching. This name equation gave both partners the idea to develop a mutual friendship.
