the storks of Bad Salzungen

Bad Salzungen has a long-lasting tradition as breeding location for storks. Occupied eyrie sites existed in earlier times on several buildings in the city.

Today, storks find a home on the drilling rig of the graduation facilities - where they can enjoy the healthy brine air of Salzungen.

On behalf of the city administration of Bad Salzungen, a modern steel construction was erected as a new nest base on the tower and equipped with a stork camera. In the meantime, the new nest underlay has become a stately nest.
