V.       Cookies

We use cookies on our site. These are small files that are automatically created by your browser and stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our site. Cookies do not cause any damage to your terminal device, do not contain viruses, Trojans or other malware.

The cookie is used to store information that arises in connection with the specific end device used. This does not mean, however, that we will immediately become aware of your identity.

The use of cookies serves on the one hand to make the use of our offer more pleasant for you. For example, we use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited individual pages on our website. These are automatically deleted after leaving our site.

In addition, we also use temporary cookies to optimise user-friendliness, which are stored on your end device for a specific period of time. If you visit our site again to make use of our services, it is automatically recognized that you have already been with us and which inputs and settings you have made so that you do not have to enter them again.

On the other hand, we use cookies to record the use of our website statistically and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimising our offer for you (see Section VI). These cookies enable us to automatically recognize that you have already visited our site when you visit it again. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.

The data processed with cookies are necessary for the purposes mentioned to safeguard our legitimate interests and those of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or a message always appears before a new cookie is created. The complete deactivation of cookies may, however, result in you not being able to use all the functions of our website.

With the tracking measures used, we want to ensure that our website is designed in line with requirements and continuously optimised. These interests are to be regarded as legitimate within the meaning of the aforementioned provision.

The respective data processing purposes and data categories can be found in the corresponding tracking tools.

Use of Matomo

We use the open source software Matomo for the analysis and statistical evaluation of the use of the website. Cookies are used for this purpose (see V). The information generated by the cookie about website usage is transferred to our servers and summarised in pseudonymous usage profiles. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website and to enable us to tailor our website to meet your needs. The information will not be passed on to third parties.

Under no circumstances will the IP address be associated with other data relating to the user. The IP addresses are anonymised so that an allocation is not possible (IP masking).

You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.
If you do not agree with the storage and evaluation of this data from your visit, you can object to its storage and use at any time by simply clicking on the mouse. In this case, a so-called opt-out cookie is stored in your browser, which means that Matomo does not collect any session data. Please note, however, that if you delete your cookies, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted and may need to be reactivated by you on a subsequent visit to this website.

Contradiction: Here you can decide whether a unique web analysis cookie may be stored in your browser in order to enable brain-GeoCMS to collect and analyse various statistical data. If you wish to opt out, click on the following link to save the Matomo deactivation cookie in your browser.

Your visit to this website is currently recorded by Matomo Web Analytics.

VII.    Embedded YouTube videos

On some of our websites we embed YouTube videos. YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, is the operator of the corresponding plug-ins. When you visit a page with the YouTube plug-in, it connects to YouTube servers. This will tell YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can personally associate your browsing behavior with you. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies which collect information about the usage behaviour. If you have deactivated the saving of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to expect any such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

For more information about YouTube's privacy practices, please refer to the provider's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed representation of the key or lock symbol in the address or status bar of your browser.

We also use suitable technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
